Internationally renowned architect Mario Cucinella was asked to curate the Italian Pavilion for the 2018 Architecture Biennale in Venice. ‘Padiglione Italia’ consisted of five projects, eight itineraries and a range of collateral activities. The goal was to investigate the complexity of rural Italian territories comprising of over 1000 small local sites, focusing on the key role that contemporary architecture plays in their revitalisation. Zup oversaw of the identity, editorial layouts — which included extensive map and infographic design — and all the exhibition graphics within ‘Padiglione Italia’.
